Thank you for your interest in ASWA! ASWA has been active since 1938 to promote the personal, professional, and economic development of women in the accounting and finance fields. Anyone with at least 2 years accounting experience, or a student with an accounting or finance major, may join ASWA as a regular member. While we encourage women to continue education and certification tracks, it is certainly not a requirement. Our organization is that much more vibrant because we have that diversity of experience. If you haven’t already had the opportunity, please visit our national website at www.aswa.org. It will give you an idea of all of the ASWA activities, including our outreach. The national and regional conferences provide networking and educational opportunities for all members and guests. The local chapter meetings provide that as well as a more intimate atmosphere to share ideas, ask questions, make friends, listen to a speaker and enjoy the company of other professional women. We are most proud of our scholarship activity. Each ASWA chapter (over 80) promotes education and awards annual scholarships to deserving women.
As an ASWA member, you are part of a national organization and have access to all of the activities and outreach on all levels – national, regional and local. The Boston Chapter chartered in 1961 and meets 10 times per year. Our meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:15pm. We meet in the Seventy @ Third restaurant in the Westin Hotel in Waltham and we would be delighted if you could attend. We would be happy to speak with you about ASWA and answer any questions you may have.
